There was panic along the ever busy Abuja-Nyanya-Keffi road area of Abuja in the early hours of Wednesday, when a car suspected to be laden with explosive devices was suddenly abandoned in the middle of the road by its driver.
Eyes witnesses told the Nigerian Tribune that following this development, motorists and other passers by scampered for safety for fear the car might explode at any moment.
It was gathered that consequently, armed soldiers at the military check points swiftly moved to the scene and condoned off the area
Eyes witnesses said that the soldiers were still searching the Peugeot 406 in order to demobilise if from being explode.
According to an eyes witness, â€œthe driver just parked the car and left in a hurry prompting soldiers nearby to be suspicious and people in traffic seeing the soldiers surrounding the car began to run in different directions."
It would be recalled that two different explosions had rocked the same Nyanya location in April and May this year, killing more than a hundred people and wounding several others.
As of the press time, no official statement from the Defence Headquarters on the findings of the military personnel.
