What the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki has accomplished in Nigerian politics is not a child play. He has shown that he is the true son of his late father, Dr Olusola Saraki.
There is doubt that the people of Kwara State will not forget both father and son in their lives. They both dictated political direction of the people until last elections when the people cast what can best be termed revolt ballot.
For the first time in history of Kwara State, votes of the people were counted and the voice of the people put an end to the era of one-man show. But it is not over for Dr Saraki. He should use this defeat as opportunity to cast his mind back and subject his reign to objective assessment.
He should refrain from deceiving himself. He should do the assessment as fairly as possible to help his future. He is still young and this is an advantage he has to see how to return to power with programmes that would help the people in contrast to programmes that had long enslaved the people. If he does this, there is life after this defeat.
