National telecommunications operator, Globacom, has been adjudged as one of the Top 10 Most Respected Companies in Nigeria.

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the re appointment of Ziakede Patrick Akpobolokemi as the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
In a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, dated October 13, 2014, the appointment takes effect from December 23, 2014.

Zenith Bank Plc said its Profit after Tax (PAT) increased by 5.6 per cent to N71.1 billion in the nine months period ended September 30, 2014, from N67.3 billion in the same period of 2013.
This was disclosed in the bankâ€™s result filed to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
On the other hand, pre-tax profit went down 18.3 per cent to N86.8 billion from N106.2 billion recorded in the third quarter (Q3) of 2013.

Cement manufacturers, Ashaka Cement Plc (ASHAKACEM), on Wednesday, announced Bruno Bayet as new Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of the company.
This is contained in a letter dated October 23, 2014 and signed by Bello A. Abdullahi, company secretary/legal adviser of Ashaka Cement to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
According to the letter, Bayet was appointed following the resignation of Yusuf Lamuwa as CFO of the cement maker with effect from September 1, 2014.

The Operations Controller, Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Mr Olakunle Ogunlana, has blamed the Oyo State government for over 100 illegal filling stations in the state, just as there are indications that the three-year-old ban on major marketers of petroleum products may soon be lifted.
