According to her: “The beneficiaries exhibited products based on the skills learnt, they also enjoyed good patronage from guests at the event. It was a good opportunity for the guests to know more about the beneficiaries and their plans after the project ended. Also the Exhibition helped to provide initial customer base for them.
“The Future’s Project is an ACT Foundation funded project implemented by the Ovie Brume Foundation and focused on ‘entrepreneurship and innovation’ to address unemployment by training young prospective entrepreneurs to become employers of labour rather than endlessly seeking scarce white-collar jobs thereby creating a pathway out of poverty.
“Other areas focused on by the foundation include Literacy, Sports for Development and Career Development for Corporate Organisations among others.
“The training is geared towards improving the quality of life of local communities and the society at large. Adding that, it is to aid and enhance the development of both human and material resources, a core focus of our mission and vision statement as a Foundation”, she explained.
Since inception, the Ovie Brume Foundation has provided support in various ways to youth and families from marginalised communities particularly in the area of education, health, livelihood and nutrition.
