ARIGIDI-AKOKO— THE Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has called on all Yoruba indigenes in Nigeria and in the Diaspora to embrace a new cultural ideology, as the Yoruba race has the potentials to be the leading race in the world.
He said this at the weekend, during the 2018 edition of Okota Festival in Arigidi Akoko, Ondo State.
Adams, however, urged leaders in the country to promote eco-tourism as a way of promoting the cultural identity of the nation.
Aare Adams also stated the need for Nigeria to leverage on its huge population to drive the nation’s development.
He said: “Long before I became the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land, I have been calling for a new strategy to developing our culture and tourism, therefore, wherever I travel to in the world, I always make it a point of duty to call for a better strategy for promoting our culture and tourism.”
In his speech, the guest lecturer, Prof. Olu Aboluwoye of Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State said: “Culture is the sum total of the beliefs and actions of everyone in a given society. Culture is not monolithic, however, science, and religions have, in recent times, been influencing us greatly.”Read Full Story
