Football administrator and Higher Institutions Football League promoter, Ahmed Gara-Gombe has cautioned Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr to withhold his support for his assistant, Salisu Yusuf who has been ensnared in a bribe for jersey scandal.
Yusuf was caught on tape by controversial Ghanaian Journalist Anas Aremeyaw, accepting $1,000 for him to field a certain player during the 2018 CHAN tournament in Morocco. In offering his assistant support, Rohr had declared that Yusuf was a “honest victim.”

“What did you expect? Rohr will naturally back his assistant. He wouldn’t accept that his man is corrupt, because it also means that he too is taking bribes. Where he comes, such things are frowned at and such occurrence will demand his resignation.
“Before the World Cup Daniel Amokachi did say so much about coaches taking bribes. And his message was very clear. So we must caution Rohr to wait till the NFF ethics committee submits its findings before he can back his man,” said Gara Gombe.
