MEMBERS of apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Delta Central and Delta South senatorial districts of Delta State, have asked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to do more for the Igbo in the state in his second term in office.
The group made their position known, yesterday, while commending Ndigbo in the state for coming out in their numbers to vote for the re-election of the governor, saying: “In Delta State, we have a home because we are living in peace and Okowa-led government has identified with us in every area.”
Speaking on the expectations of Ndigbo in the districts, President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Delta Central and Delta South, Chief Mike Eze, in company of his executives and other stakeholders, said: “Our campaign for the re-election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in Delta State was not in vain and Igbo in the state are happy.
“We are expecting him to do more in the next four years of his second tenure and today in Delta State, Igbo are not left out and I believe we contributed vigorously to his re-election.
“The Igbo community in Delta Central and South are very happy with his victory because they gave about 25 per cent of the total vote cast and we are glad that Ndigbo played a good role.”Read Full Story
