Two persons lost their lives, yesterday, while several others were injured in an auto crash involving a Siena bus and a Lagos State Government campaign bus at Ile-Iwe bus stop, Idimu in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos.
A report has it that the Siena bus loaded with passengers was heading inward Igando. The passengers and driver as gathered defied the Federal Government’s stay-at-home directive.
The driver of the Siena bus, according to one of the passengers, attempted to dodge a stationed refuse truck but in the process, he collided on an ongoing government bus used for enlightenment campaign on COVID- 19 by officials of Alimosho Local Government Area.
The driver of the refuse truck, who zoomed off when the incident occurred, was chased by angry residents.
When caught up with, he and his conductor were reportedly beaten to stupor, as they blamed them for the incident.
Meanwhile, the Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu has comfirmed that six persons died after a truck fell on a commercial taxi on Epe Expressway.
Oke-Osanyintolu said six out of the seven persons involved lost their lives after the accident that occurred earlier on Wednesday.
According to him, the truck with unknown registration number had fallen on the fully loaded commercial taxi OPEL car with registration number Lagos SMK-312ES.Read Full Story
